John Lewis Nottingham re-opens after flood

John Lewis Nottingham re-opened its doors to customers on Tuesday following damage caused by a burst pipe last week.

The flood, which happened at around 10.40pm last Tuesday evening, left significant damage to the building and stock, and also affected the electrics, phone lines and lighting.

Staff at the Victoria Centre store have been helping with the on-going clean-up operation.

A John Lewis spokesperson said on Monday: “We will open our doors again tomorrow for our first official day of summer clearance.

“Our teams have worked around the clock to get the shop up and running again and we would like to thank our customers for their patience over the last few days.

“There are some temporary measures in place and we will be applying the finishing touches to the shop over the next few weeks.”

The company opened the shop from 8am to 9am to allow My John Lewis customers first access to clearance offers.

It was opened to all other customers from 9am, with extended trading until 8pm.
