A West Bridgford primary school has re-opened after it was forced to close for building safety checks.

Jesse Gray Primary School, on Musters Road, shut last Wednesday (November 30) so that work could be carried out after ceiling tiles fell inside a room.

It re-opened as normal on Monday morning, December 5.

When the school was initially closed, headteacher Sarah Law said: “Following tiles falling down on Monday evening, all ceilings need to be checked to ensure they are safe.

“We have been advised that the school needs to be closed today to all pupils to allow this to be done.

“I understand this will cause huge inconvenience but I know you will agree that the safety of our children is paramount.”
