Finishing touches are being put to a 24,000 sq ft, multi-million pound Bierkeller ‘entertainment complex’ in Nottingham complete with three different bars.

The building on Friar Lane was bought nearly a year ago by the national chain, which has now announced it will open the venue.

The building was last a Walkabout bar, which closed down in 2015.

Bierkeller has announced the new venue will have three bars all with different themes, each occupying a floor of the complex.

The Bavarian Bierkeller will occupy the cellar, with an Around the World Bar on the ground floor and a Shooters sports bar on the first floor.

Allan Harper, chief executive of Burning Night Group which owns the Bierkeller chain, said: “What the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex does is something different from what is already available. Because we have three venues under the same roof, we have something for everyone, and we believe we’ll be an exciting addition to the Nottingham night life.

“We are keen to keep growing and look for cities where we feel we can offer something unique as a leisure destination.

“We saw a lot of potential in Nottingham so it made sense for us to choose it as our next site when we were looking to diversify in 2017.”

Bierkeller, which means Beer Cellar in German, refers to beer hall pubs which specialise in beer, usually found in the Bavaria region of Germany.

The Bierkeller set to open in Nottingham, will include many of the same features as a traditional Munich beer hall with live music and long benches.

Around the World Bar & Lounge will feature at least 50 different beers from 18 different countries spanning five continents.

On the top floor Shooters sports bar will be fitted with large screen TVs showing all major live sporting events.

All the bars will have a varied selection of food and drink to pair with their theme.

Similar Bierkeller entertainment complexes exist in Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.

This Nottingham complex is also expected to create more than 100 full-time and part-time jobs.

The official launch will be on St Patrick’s Day, March 17.
