A serious case review has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 13-year-old girl in Nottingham.
Amber Peat, 13 disappeared from her family home in Mansfield on 30 May this year. Her body was found three days later, less than a mile away.
Police said at the time that there were no suspicious circumstances with her death.
Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board has now confirmed it is now looking into how Amber was dealt with by authorities.
Chris Few, Chair of the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board said:
“Following the sad death of Amber Peat in June of this year, the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board is conducting a serious case review.”
“The review will look at whether anything can be learned from this tragic event which could lead to improvements in the way that agencies work together to protect children in Nottinghamshire.”
Safeguarding Children Boards are designed to allow organisations to come together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
