Andy Reid relieved Forest now have win under their belt

Nottingham Forest finally have a win under their belt under the partnership of Paul Williams and Andy Reid after beating Fulham 3-1 last weekend.

They now head back to the City Ground to face Wolves in what is the club’s final home league game of the season.

It’s not easy to go from one style completely to another

Forest will be in a buoyant mood after producing a brilliant performance away at Fulham.

A brace from captain Henri Lansbury as well as a strike from distance by midfielder Robert Tesche helped seal the win.

The Reds, whose home form has not been brilliant this season, will want to send their fans home in a good mood by producing a similar performance against Kenny Jackett’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Andy Reid believes the season is ending at the wrong time for Forest.

He said: “That’s exactly how we feel. That’s definitely how Paul (Williams) feels. We’ve just started getting across to them and they are starting to get exactly what we’ve been trying to achieve and getting it from the training pitch and into a game.

“We’d like the season to go on for another few weeks really, but unfortunately it’s not and we have to deal with that.”

Dougie

Former Reds boss Dougie Freedman was called into question by some Forest fans for adopting an approach they labelled “too defensive”.

Reid admitted that it was difficult transitioning the players from that mindset to the more high-tempo attacking game that Forest have exercised in recent weeks.

“It’s not easy to go from one style completely to another. That’s something we’ve had to build gradually all the way through the team,” added the Irishman.

One person who has benefited from Freedman’s departure is left-back turned centre-half Danny Fox. The former Southampton and Burnley defender appears to have found a new lease of life with some impressive performances alongside Matt Mills in the heart of the Reds backline.

Forest may want to stick with the same eleven that started at Fulham after putting in a more than impressive display from defence to attack.

Williams may be tempted to throw Britt Assombalonga into the mix after upping his return with another short cameo last Saturday, although Dexter Blackstock stands in his way.

One person who has earned a lot of the plaudits in recent weeks is midfielder and team captain Henri Lansbury. He has been a revelation since returning from injury and finally scored last weekend after many near attempts in previous matches.

He is likely to continue in his role just behind the main striker, where Henri and Paul Williams agree is his best position.

His form may come slightly too late to pull him into the reckoning for the Reds’ player of the season award. Goalkeeper Dorus De Vries, Welsh midfielder David Vaughan and Ben Osborn are expected to battle it out for the honour.
