Armed police seen carrying out search on North Sherwood Street

A team of armed police officers were seen carrying out an operation on North Sherwood Street in Nottingham on Wednesday.

Three marked police cars and an unmarked vehicle were pictured parked on North Sherwood Street, close to the junction with Ossington Close in the city centre.

Police said the officers were called to help search a premises, but nothing criminal was uncovered.

Officers were seen examining a car park gate.

Officers, some armed with pistols, were seen standing guard in the street and others were spotted examining a gate to a car park nearby.

A Notts Police spokesman said: “We requested additional officers to assist with the search of a premises in North Sherwood Street, Nottingham, this afternoon (Wednesday 6 December 2017). The search was conducted and no offences were disclosed.”
