Security guard hurt as masked men with gun rob Cinderhill Tesco

A security guard was attacked as two masked men armed with a gun and knife robbed the Cinderhill Tesco petrol station.

Nottinghamshire Police say the incident unfolded at 6.30pm after the men entered the Tesco Express station on the A610 Nuthall Road, south of the Nuthall roundabout.

The men threatened staff before stealing cash.

The male security guard was hit over the head during the incident, but other workers escaped uninjured.

An ambulance attended the scene, but the guard’s injuries are not believed to be serious.

It is thought the two robbers fled over woodland and open ground behind the service station in the direction of Basford Hall College and Basford Miners’ Welfare.

Three marked police cars and an unmarked vehicle were called to the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Notts Police on 101, quoting incident number 691 of January 28.
