A New Year and a new life is being celebrated at Stonebridge City Farm and they want you to get involved.
After months of waiting the staff and volunteers have welcomed the first calf to the St Anns Farm in nearly a decade.
Lunar, the shortest of the farm’s resident Dexter Cows has delighted staff and guests with producing a New Year’s gift.
Tom Adams, one of the Barn Supervisors, said: “We’ve been looking forward to welcome the newest arrival to Stonebridge City Farm for months.
“Despite Lunar being a first-time mum she is doing great job and both mother and daughter are doing well.”
Stephen Gee, Operations Co-ordinator believes that 2016 couldn’t have started any better.
He said: “2016 certainly couldn’t have got off to a better start with Lunar giving birth to a beautiful female calf in the early hours of New Year’s Day!
“I’m sure this little rascal will be a guest favourite for the next few months.”
At present the newborn calf is still waiting for a name, but the farm is inviting you to get involved with an upcoming competition in the next few days.
