Children get into construction for Bring Your Child to Work Day

NCH plumber, Helen Cort, teaches eight-year-old Molly Gibb and her dad Craig Gibb all about being a plumber.

Nottingham City Homes has been celebrating Bring Your Child to Work Day by inviting employees to bring their kids in to the workplace.

Eighteen children, ranging from five to 16 years old, took part in the day where they had the chance to try their hand at a range of trades including painting, plastering, plumbing. joinery and brick laying.

Each child was accompanied by their parent or carer for the start of their working day, and given some tasks and games to teach them about that area of work.

Throughout the day they received guidance and tuition from some of the qualified tradespeople and apprentices.
