Several key Nottingham city centre roads will be closed to allow the Nottingham 10K to take place.

Routes including Friar Lane, London Road and Queen’s Road will be closed for the Sunday (May 15) event, organisers Run for All announced.

Each route will only be shut temporarily as runners head through the route, and organisers have agreed the plan with Nottingham City Council.

London Road will be shut from 8.30am to 11.50am and Queen’s Road will be closed 8.30am to 10.55am.

Run for All said in a statement: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your support of the 2016 Nottingham 10K.”

Next month’s race, its first appearance in Nottingham, starts and finishes at Old Market Square and will take in the River Trent, Nottingham Castle and the Lace Market.

The organisers’ website has a full list of all road closures and times.
