The festival of cycling is set to take over the Victoria Embankment this weekend as the Great Notts Bike Ride reaches its 34th year.
The annual event starts on Saturday and gives the people the opportunity to take part in a range of cycling-based events while raising money for charity.
The Nottingham City Ride, which was added 3 years ago, will be held on Saturday and is aimed at young families or those new to cycling, with a chance to cycle 2.5, 7.5 and 10.5 miles.
“The Big Wheels events village is basically a one stop shop for all things cycling.”
Tiffany Jackson-Bieeu, The Big Wheel Cycle Village Organiser
The Great Notts Bike Ride will take place once again this year with the traditional 25 and 50 mile events and the recently added 100 mile ride with up to 5000 participants set to take part, with the ride falling on Father’s day this year.
There will be feed stations along the routes on Sunday, providing the chance for participants to refuel and refresh before continuing with the ride.

Tiffany Jackson-Bieeu, the Big Wheel Cycle Village Organiser said: “The Big Wheels events village is basically a one stop shop for all things cycling.”
“Last year we had over 8,000 people on site over the 2 days so hopefully it will be just like that.”
Along with the bike rides there will also be an event village which will include food stalls, live music, inflatables and a whole host of other activities for people to try.
Cycle Live Nottingham will be hoping to build on the success of last years event which saw them nominated for the best sport event at the UK Events awards.
The event forms part of a larger summer of cycling that has been taking place in Nottingham with the Milk Race in May when local riders got the chance to take on Olympians like Ed Clancy and Steven Burke.
Part of The Tour of Britain will also finish at the Forest Recreation ground, bringing big names such as Sir Bradley Wiggins to the city on September 11th.
