A vacant pub in a Nottingham suburb could be demolished to make way for affordable homes.
A planning application has been submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council, the authority which owns the land, to flatten the former Inham Nook Pub and Hotel in Chilwell.
The pub was once described as a “relaxed family bar with food, games and music” before it closed.
The documents said: “There is no development layout available at this stage. It is understood that the existing buildings, hardstanding, introduced shrub and grassland are proposed to be removed and replaced with an unspecified number of residential dwellings. It is understood that tree removal may also be necessary.”
The plans submitted by Applicant Peter Goodrick, of Broxtowe Borough Council, will now be set for consideration by planning officers.
A Broxtowe Borough Council spokesperson said: “Broxtowe Borough Council own the site of the Inham Nook public house and are currently proposing to redevelop the site principally for affordable housing. A full planning application is due to be submitted in the spring following a consultation event which is currently being held with local residents.”
