Additional work required to complete the revamp of Station Street has now finished.

Work was due to finish at the end of July but Nottingham City Council then announced that ‘additional work’ was needed.

This included the planting of trees, the installation of street lights and laying down some of the paving.

Workmen were not able to install all of the finishing touches because of scaffolding surrounding the station entrance at the time.

Speaking before the completion of the revamp, Portfolio Holder for Jobs, Growth and Transport Councillor Nick McDonald said: “These final pieces will bring together the final bits of work to make Station Street a welcoming gateway to the city.

“This is in preparation for the developments around the Broadmarsh area and other exciting developments across the city.

“These works are an essential part of the new area to ensure Station Street is the modern, safe and welcoming area we want it to be.”
