Firefighters tackle blaze in Canning Circus

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue service spent an hour tackling a fire in a derelict building on Alfreton Road.

The fire broke out around 9pm on Monday 17th August which led to road closures whilst the blaze was being extinguished.

More than 20 firefighters from three Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service stations were involved in tackling the blaze using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and a main jet.

Crews extinguished the fire, in the roof space of a derelict, two storey building, believed to be a former shop.

The road was re-opened shortly afterwards.

No-one was injured in the fire and no other properties were damaged.
