A flight from East Midlands Airport to Spain was forced to turn around and land at Gatwick because of a medical emergency.
Monday’s 3.55pm Thomson flight to Mallorca had just begun to cross the English Channel when it turned back.
After a successful landing at Gatwick, the plane continued to Mallorca and landed at Palma.
At the time of the incident, a Thomson spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to customers travelling on flight TOM7118 from East Midlands to Majorca, due to the aircraft needing to divert to Gatwick as a result of a medical emergency.
“We would like to reassure everyone that we are working as quickly as possible to get all customers affected on their journeys as soon as we can.”
