Nottingham Forest host Millwall on the opening weekend of the 2017-18 Championship season.

The English Football League released its fixture list for the campaign on Wednesday morning – and the Reds face the Lions at the City Ground on the weekend of August 4-6.

The game has provisionally been scheduled for Saturday, August 5 but the date may need to be changed to avoid a clash with a planned Nottinghamshire T20 Blast match at Trent Bridge.

Notts County will start their League Two Season away at Coventry on Saturday, August 5, and have their first home game on Saturday, August 12 against Chesterfield.

Forest make trips to Brentford (Saturday, August 12) and Barnsley (Tuesday, August 15) before the opening month of the campaign is rounded off with home games against Middlesbrough and Leeds United.

The first East Midlands derby of the season against Derby County will take place at Pride Park on Saturday, October 14.

Derby will visit the City Ground for the return fixture on Saturday, March 10. The 2017-18 campaign is brought to a close with a trip to Bolton Wanderers on Sunday 6 May.

Mansfield Town start their League Two campaign away at Crewe on Saturday August 5.
