Thieves broke into a house in Nuthall and stole four gold bullion bars.
The burglary happened in Highfield Drive between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Thursday, February 16.
Four 100g gold bullion bars were taken.
The estimated value of one 100g gold bar is currently around £3,000, meaning the total value of what was taken was at least £12,000.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the burglary or anyone who may have been offered a gold bar for sale.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 917 of February 16 2017.
