The funeral of a man who died fighting IS took place in Nottingham today.

Flags were waved and peace signs were made by mourners paying tribute to Konstandinos Erik Scurfield as his family mourned the tragic death of the ex marine after he was killed by a missile in Syria.

The service was held at the Greek Orthodox Church on Derby road. The street was closed off for three hours as hundreds turned out to support the family of Mr Scurfield, who had previously studied at New College, Nottingham.
