Gem 106’s Weekend Anthems presenter Jennie Longdon has warned viewers she ‘may still have her rollers in’ when her radio show hits Notts TV for the first time.

Every Saturday night, Gem rewinds and reloads the biggest anthems from back in the day, bringing some of the finest moments in dance music to wherever you are.

And for the first time, the show will be broadcast live on Notts TV on Saturday (February 4) from 5pm, something which Jennie says she is very excited about.

She said: “It’s about getting people ready for the weekend and we’re going to celebrate the fact it’s a Saturday night.

“More often than not during the shows I’m getting ready to go out myself – if you’re getting ready I may be there with you with my rollers in.

“To be honest with it being on TV, I’ll probably be dressed up to the nines more than usual and I apologise if I do anything embarrassing on air.”

Jennie also dropped a couple of hints on which tracks she may play on Saturday.

She said: “I absolutely love playing Hideaway by Kiesza.

“As well as dance music there’ll be some RnB as it is really big for me; it reminds me of some of the best times I’ve had.

“There’ll be a few guilt-free pleasures, such as Ini Kamoze’s Here Comes the Hotstepper.”

The show is designed for everyone to enjoy their Saturday night, regardless of what they are doing.

Jennie said: “It really is for everyone – whether you are going out or staying in and having a big meal or a takeaway, we want to really make it feel like the weekend.

“The show is also about shoutouts and mentioning people – we can show some shoutouts to the camera too as well as on the radio show.

“There’s no longer a need to make your own playlist – I’ve got it sorted!”

Sam and Amy have their breakfast show aired on Notts TV every morning.

Gem’s Weekend Anthems show is the second radio show to be aired on Notts TV, following Gem joining forces with Notts TV in August 2015 to broadcast the Sam & Amy at Breakfast show every weekday morning.

The show was nominated at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2016 in the ‘best innovation’ category, which is seen as one of the leading accolades in the business.

You can watch Jennie’s show from 5pm on Saturday February 4, and every Saturday thereafter, on Freeview 7, Virgin 159 and Sky 117 from 5pm to 8pm.
