A Nottingham gin festival returns for the second time this year after the previous event was a ‘huge success’.
4,500 people attended Gin Festival in April which will again take place over two days at the Nottingham Conference Centre, Burton Street.
Gin connoisseurs will be able to sample 110 different spirits from small and world-renowned brands, and there will be ‘masterclasses’ for customers to learn more about the history of world gins.
Tom Grummett, a gin expert and organiser of the festival, said: “The last event in April was a huge success. 4,500 people came through the doors to try all the gin we brought with us. The atmosphere was great, the venue was great.
“We will bring with us around 110 gins to the event, with different bars, broken down into different sections.
“We’ve got two bars dedicated to gin from the British Isles, we’ve got a bar dedicated to national gins and a bar dedicated to fruit gins, liqueurs and sweeter gins.”
The masterclasses will last 20 minutes as people learn about the history of gin brands around a table.
Free samples will be available, and customers will exchange tokens to try the gins.
There will be different mixers and unlimited tonic on offer.
And Tom says there will be a different array of gins on offer this time around.
“There will be a change when we get to Nottingham with a nice, new selection for customers to try new gins,” he said.
“Whether or not you’re already a big fan of gin – there’s plenty of gins to try. Even if you’re not a gin fan, there’s many to try.
“We have gins for everyone – we get a lot of people who find new gins they wouldn’t have had chance to try before. It’s a great, unique selection of gins to try.”
Street food will be available and there will be live music, says Tom.
The festival takes place from Saturday, November 25, to Sunday, November 26, over three sessions.
There will be afternoon taster sessions between 12.30pm and 5pm on both days, with an evening session on the Saturday from 6.30pm to 11pm.
A spokesman added: “We received an overwhelming response from the people of Nottingham when we visited earlier in the year.
“The event sold out in days and our waiting list for tickets was huge so we thought we’d come back again and give those that missed out the first time another chance to join in the fun.”
Gin Festival has put on around 40 events all over the country this year and will also return to Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester.
‘Early Bird’ tickets cost £13 and can be purchased from the festival’s website.
General admission will cost £16.
The event is strictly for adults and children are not allowed.
