Nottingham Beach is an annual attraction on Old Market Square which includes rides, a bar and tons of sand.

A woman had to be taken to hospital after being injured while on a ride at Nottingham Beach.

The emergency services were called just before 9pm on Sunday (July 22) to the Crazy Wave Ride at the attraction, on Old Market Square.

Notts Police attended and said the woman was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with injuries “not thought to be life-threatening”.

No other information was released about how she came to be hurt. Police said they closed off the ride after the incident.

A statement issued by Mellors Group Events, which runs the beach attraction, read: “The Emergency Services and Health and Safety Executive were immediately notified and are currently investigating.

“We would be unable to comment any further until the circumstances have been fully looked into and the investigation has reached its conclusion.

“To enable this, the operator has closed the ride and will be removing it from site.”
