00:26 Seems it was a false alarm – reports emerging that Nottingham Forest have concluded their business for the window; with six signings and six players leaving the club.

00:22 No further developments as of yet, but we’re waiting up to see what happens. On to the hot chocolate now. Midnight oil is well and truly burning.

00:06 There could be more from Nottingham Forest yet – reports of another outgoing…

00:05 And the new signing himself has wasted no time in taking to Twitter, saying ‘your humble servant is back’.

00:04 A bit more on Guedioura – Boro said they released him from his contract but Nottingham Forest said he joins from Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee. The 32-year-old previously played for the Reds from 2012 to 2013, signing initially on loan in January 2012 before making his switch permanent ahead of the 2012/13 season.

00:01 DONE DEAL: Nottingham Forest have re-signed midfielder Adlene Guedioura on a two-and-a-half year deal! More to follow…

00:00 Good morning! Still going strong as there could yet be more announcements to be made, even though we’re now an hour past the deadline. If you’re still with us, grab a coffee and get comfy!

23:53 Reports emerging Middlesbrough have terminated the contract of Nottingham Forest target Adlene Guedioura.

23:49 Notts County owner and chairman Alan Hardy is pleased with his side’s business this transfer window. Speaking a couple of weeks ago on Team Talk, he said the Magpies would have a stronger squad at the end of the window than at the start, and it certainly looks like he feels he’s achieved that.

23:47 DONE DEAL: Nottingham Forest have secured Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback on loan until the end of the season!

23:38 A bit about Notts County new boy Mason Bennett. The 21-year-old made his debut for Derby when he was 15 – the club’s youngest ever player. Speaking about the move to iFollow Notts, he said:

“I’m delighted to get it over the line because it’s been going on for a couple of weeks now. It went down to the last day and fortunately we have got it done.

“This is a great club and a massive club which is going in the right direction and I want to help it push into League One.

“The manager knows what I can do on and off the ball. He wants me to come in and give the team something a bit different to what they have already.

“I’m here to gain more experience and make an impact.”

zach,clough
Zach Clough signed for the Reds for an undisclosed fee

23:26 Watford have confirmed Ben Watson has left the club by mutual consent. The 32-year-old midfielder made 78 appearances for the Hornets, scoring twice. Does that mean he is on the way to Nottingham Forest… Time will tell!

23:15 SWAP DEAL! Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Lee Tomlin from Cardiff City in a swap loan deal with Jamie Ward going in the opposite direction. Both players will be on loan at each club for the rest of the season.

23:14 It looks as though step one has gone ahead for Ben Watson to join Nottingham Forest, according to the Post’s Paul Taylor…

23:12 Looks like Alan Hardy and co at Notts County are preparing the midnight oil…

23:08 Sky Sports have said their sources say they expect Ben Watson to be released by Watford to then pave the way for Nottingham Forest to sign him…

23:03 Wow – now that’s one I didn’t see coming. Nottingham Post’s Forest reporter Paul Taylor has just Tweeted to say it sounds like Nottingham Forest’s Zach Clough could be heading back out on loan to Bolton.

23:01 Messages from the Radfords about Mansfield Town’s deadline day business.

23:00 THE TRANSFER WINDOW IS CLOSED! As long as clubs submit all the paperwork before 11pm, clubs can still announce players after the window has shut. Stick with us…

22:58 Notts County announcement imminent.

22:55 JUST FIVE MINUTES TO GO! I can barely keep up at the moment – and we’re expecting a Notts County announcement any moment still!

Joe Lolley has signed for Nottingham Forest

22:46 What we know about the Joe Lolley transfer so far – he has joined the Reds from Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee on a long-term contract. The 25-year-old made 80 appearances for Huddersfield scoring nine times.

22:45 Alan Hardy you tease!

22:44 A nice touch from Huddersfield Town.

22:42 Done Deal: Nottingham Forest have signed Huddersfield defender Joe Lolley! More to follow…

22:39 There could be another outgoing at Nottingham Forest, according to BBC Nottingham’s Robin Chipperfield. I can’t remember the last time the Reds were this active on deadline day!

22:38 Rumour has it Nottingham Forest have signed Huddersfield defender Joe Lolley on a four-and-a-half year deal, according to Sky Sports’ Pete O’Rourke…

22:35 Notts County chairman Alan Hardy rules out one suggestion from a fan on Twitter – but not the other… Could it be Adam le Fondre?

22:30 JUST 30 MINUTES TO GO! We’re still awaiting news from Notts County and developments are expected with Nottingham Forest tonight – but Mansfield Town have concluded their business for the window.

22:21 Mansfield Town fans – looks like that’s business done for the season, if this parting Tweet is anything to go by. That and the hashtags #BusinessDone and #Goodnight.

22:18 Some news from BBC Humberside’s David Burns on the latest with Nottingham Forest’s proposed move for Hull City defender Michael Dawson. Warning: it’s pretty spicy…

22:13 And that’s not all – here’s one for the Notts County fans still with us!

22:12 And a few characters from the new Mansfield Town striker Ricky Miller, who has just signed on loan from Peterborough United.

22:10 This is what manager Steve Evans had to say about the signing, speaking to iFollow Stags:

“A youngster at Manchester City and Ricky – both natural goalscorers – were at the top of my January list. Pep decided to keep that young man at City so it’s brilliant to have landed Ricky.

“The lad has had his problems but you are very fortunate in life if you never have any. He is very focused on his football and so credit to Peterborough United and the lad. He is very much ready to play a part.

“We, amongst fifteen other clubs, tried to sign Ricky last summer but he chose Peterborough and we respected that decision.

“I’ve been with him for a couple of hours and he was so aware of our squad and the challenge that lies ahead.

“I’ve made it clear that there are no guarantees to play here. Like all the others, he will compete for a place in the team. I spoke to players at Dover Athletic and Peterborough United and they love the lad. In turn he will get that love here.

“Stags’ supporters will give him a fantastic welcome. They will want him to succeed and I believe in him totally.

“Chief executive Carolyn Radford and chairman John Radford were simply brilliant. At 3pm today we were out of the race in signing the lad. I rightfully thank both.”

22:06 A little bit about the new Stags frontman Ricky Miller – the 28-year-old has joined from Peterborough United on a loan deal until the end of the season. Mansfield Town have the option to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer. Last season, he played for non-league Dover Athletic scoring 41 goals in 42 goals which caught the attention of Peterborough in the summer.

22:01 Done Deal: Peterborough United striker Ricky Miller joins Mansfield Town on loan until the end of the season!

22:00 ONE HOUR TO GO! And all three clubs are expected to be in action within this hour on deadline day! Be sure to stay locked in for all the latest!

21:37 Well that’s a way to start your coverage on the live blog! This is Jake Brigstock signing in for the rest of the night until the window slams shut and beyond to bring you the latest news and transfers for our clubs – still expecting something from all three clubs but there’s not long left to do it!

21:34 PLAYER OUT: Nottingham Forest defender Matt Mills has left the club my mutual consent. The centre back scored six times in 72 appearances for the Reds since he joined in 2015.

20:54 Having played a pivotal part in keeping Nottingham Forest above the drop zone last season, Carayol, the 29-year-old winger joins the Blue’s as a free agent after making more than 100 Championship appearances.

He told iFollow Ipswich: “The gaffer showed interest in me before I signed for Forest so as soon as I knew Ipswich were keen on me it was an easy decision,

Forest was probably the most frustrating time of my career so I’ve come here to play games and I’ll work as hard as I can. I want to make a big impact here and help the team.

“I’m here until the end of the season. That is my focus for now but hopefully, I can impress the gaffer and the fans and I can show the gaffer I’m worth keeping beyond the summer.”

20:50 PLAYER OUT: Muzzy is back! Mustapha Carayol has joined Ipswich Town, after having his contract terminated at Nottingham Forest earlier today, on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

20:25 More developments from Meadow Lane. The reported striker is near to the ground and County are very eager to snap him up. The Nottingham Post says that this deal has been ‘ongoing since noon and at one stage looked in danger’.

A tricky situation, which could be Notts County’s last piece of business of the day.

20:10 Costel could be straight in! The Nottingham post is now reporting that they are expecting to see ‘some developments’ on the future of Red’s keeper Stephen Henderson this evening. Costel Pantilimon may have been brought in as a new number one.

20:00 We are LIVE! Join us on Facebook to watch ‘Team Talk’ with Owen and Charlie to get all the latest transfer news, rumours and opinions from European Cup winner and Forest defender Colin Barett, plus Nott’s superfan Adrian Rawden. We’ll be bringing you updates as we go.

19:55 The Magpies are leaving it late! Leigh Curtis, County reporter for the Nottingham Post, has shared a video with Notts County owner Alan Hardy. Notts County are on the brink of signing a striker, who is on his way to Meadow Lane, but only if his parent club can nab a signing of their own.

Hardy also revealed that a Magpies player will be leaving the club permanently this window.

Keeping business late Hardy and gaffer Kevin Nolan have been contacted by several Championship clubs and a Premier League team, with some hopeful loan moves on the cards.

19:45 It would be an impressive haul in the January window.

19:25 It’s getting closer. BBC Nottingham’s Robin Chipperfield brings to light that rumours in Wales are true. Looks like Lee Tomlin will join Nottingham Forest and Jamie Ward will head to Cardiff City in a swap deal.

19:20 The Magpies’ final piece of business? Notts County owner Alan Hardy tweets that a striker is on his way to Meadow Lane to sign a deal tonight!

19:18 Making room! Nottingham Forest have confirmed that Tyler Walker has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan for the remainder of the season. The 21-year-old has scored four goals in 16 appearances this season, but has only featured twice this month. neither time being picked by Karanka.

19:15 No luck for Burnley! BBC Sport understand that Joe Worrall will be staying put at Nottingham Forest after strong interest was shown by Premier League club Burnley.

19:00 It might be a late one.. Mansfield Town look to complete one more deal before the window closes at 11pm. All eyes on Steve Evans at the One Call Stadium.

18:57 ‘It’s my dream to play in England.’ Ashkan Dejagah has already told fans, on the Nottingham Forest website, that he is eager to get his time at the City Ground underway. The Iranian international was a free agent and has signed on a deal until the end of the season.

He said: “I am really happy to be here and back in the UK. Nottingham Forest is a big, traditional club and I am happy to be here.

“I am a player who likes to attack. I am aggressive on the pitch and always want to win so hopefully I can give the fans something to cheer about.”

18:50 The two would be reunited! Tony Pulis could allow Adlene Guedioura to return to former club Nottingham Forest and reunite with past manager Aitor Karanka, according to The Daily Mail. The Algerian has only started once at the Riverside this season after being signed a year ago when Karanka was Boro boss.

18:40 Grab yourself a cuppa. Journalist Peter O’Rourke has now dropped this bombshell. Nottingham Forest are set to sign Middlesbrough’s Adlene Guedioura, Cardiff’s Lee Tomlin, Hull’s Michael Dawson, Newcastle’s Jack Colback and Watford’s Ben Watson, all tonight.

18:34 Get your head around this one..

Hull City have completed the signing of Angus MacDonald from Barnsley, paving the way for Reds’ Matt Mills to potentially move to Oakwell filling the gap. Tigers’ captain, Michael Dawson, now rumored to head to Forest depending on the Mills situation.

18:30 Another bites the dust. Nottingham Forest have confirmed that Mustapha Carayol has left the City Ground by mutual consent. The winger made 38 appearances for the Reds after joining in 2016.

18:20 This one is new! Sky Sports and the Telegraph understand that Nottingham Forest are set to sign Watford midfielder Ben Watson on loan. The veteran player has pulled out of the Hornet’s fixture this evening against Stoke.

18:05 It’s exciting stuff now! Pantilimon is drafted in on loan for the rest of the season from Watford, after being recalled from Deportivo today, and has valuable Premier League experience at both Manchester City and Sunderland.

Back in the English league’s former Fulham winger and Wolfsburg midfielder Ashkan Dejagah has signed a short-term deal until the end of the campaign. Take a look at Nottingham Forest’s deals so far:

18:00 Done Deal: DOUBLE SIGNING. Ashkan Dejagah and Costel Pantilimon both sign for the Reds, who are leaving it late on Deadline Day.

17:58 Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or a brand-spanking new winger to Nottingham Forest?

17:55 More signings coming to Meadow Lane! County chairman Alan Hardy is heavily hinting that there is still plenty more business to happen for Notts County before tonight’s window closes. Keep an eye out.

17:50 Making his way down the A1, most likely, Jack Colback could be Aitor Karanka’s answer to his left-back dilemma, with Armand Traore expected to be shipped out of the City Ground before tonight’s transfer deadline.

17:35 Multiple news outlets and journalist Peter O’Rourke are speculating that Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City are in talks of a swap deal with Reds forward Jamie Ward. It’s reported that Karanka is a fan of the Bluebird’s Lee Tomlin, who has made thirteen appearances in the Championship this season.

17:30 Could this be the Stags brand-new striker.. no guarantees at this stage.

17:28 Ladies and gents, Jim White’s replacement.. We live for insights like this. First person to tweet he’s been spotted in the West Bridgford co-op, using the #ColbackWatch, wins a blue duck!

17:25 With no transfers completed on Deadline Day Aitor Karanka will be keen to make some last minute additions to the Reds, after reveling he felt ’embarrassed’ by Forest’s performance last night in the 3-0 defeat to Preston.

17:15 Deal on! Sky Sports’ Pete Graves and John Cross from the Daily Mirror are now reporting that Newcastle United Midfielder Jack Colback is on route to the City Ground. An expected loan deal to the end of the season is likely, for the out of favour midfielder.

17:00 Another front man? Carolyn Radford the CEO of Mansfield Town let slip the ‘#striker’ in her Facebook post earlier, could the Stags make it three signings in this window?

Here’s the club’s business so far:

16:40 The newest addition to Meadow Lane says he wants to hit the ground running at Notts County. Deadline Day signing Ben Hall is relishing the chance to make his first appearance on Saturday against Crewe Alexander infront of 16,000 fans.

16:22 PLAYER OUT: Stags midfielder Callum Butcher has joined Billericay Town, who lead in the Isthmian League Premier Division, on loan until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old only joined Mansfield Town last summer and has struggled to secure first team chances at the One Call Stadium.

16:15 Watch this space.. Mansfield Town looking to make it two deals on Deadline Day.

16:05 ‘He’s a big character.’ Aitor Karanka says that Tobias Figueiredo has the passion and desire that is needed to ignite this Nottingham Forest team. The Portuguese man has represented his country on every youth level since the under-15’s. With the Reds troubling performance against Preston North End, if fit, he will most likely start this weekend at Fulham.

15:45 Smile! Ben Hall completes his formalities at Meadow Lane and slips into the home kit. The Northern Ireland under-21 international signs on loan from Brighton until the end of the season.

15:20 The Nottingham Post’s Paul Taylor understands Matt Mills has one foot out of the City Ground and is holding talks with fellow Championship side Barnsley. The 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has only played 11 league games this season. The veteran central-defender looks to have fallen out of Aitor Karanka’s plans with Forest adding Sporting Lisbon defender Tobias Figueiredo to their books.

14:58 Are Forest sweet for Lolley? The Daily Mail’s Midlands football correspondent, Laurie Whitwell, reports that Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday are going head-to-head to sign Huddersfield’s Joe Lolley. The Premier League side would allow a permanent deal for the 25-year-old midfielder.

14:48 Afternoon. It’s Harvey Jamison here taking over from Chris for your constant fill of transfer deadline day deals, rumours, lies and airport pictures. Plenty of news coming from Forest and County and the Stags, stick with us for the latest.

14:35 The Nottingham Post’s Forest writer, Paul Taylor, tweets that Mustapha Carayol’s contract has been cancelled by Forest and he’s on his way… with Armand Traore to follow.

14:25 Another player whose name keeps coming up is that of Jack Colback, the Newcastle midfielder who has fallen out of favour with Rafa Benitez at St James’s Park. Local paper Shields Gazette has his most likely destination down as Nottingham Forest. Several bookmakers agree, with some putting the move to the City Ground at odds-on.

His name and Forest are intertwined at the moment, according to Google Trends;

14:06 Meanwhile the rumour mill continues to link Romanian goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon with a switch from Deportivo La Coruna in Spain to Forest. Several Romanian newspapers have this virtually as gospel, but one reports the Reds have competition in the form of Romanian side Steaua Bucureşti.

13:55 The reports linking Roma goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski to Forest seem to be founded in reliable Italian football website Football Italia and in Italy itself, from Gianluca Di Marzio, a Sky Sport reporter, who writes only that the Polish international is supposedly keen on the move. A fee of £4.4 million is reported.

13:43 Most of the Forest-related noise at the moment surrounds reports Jamie Ward is on his way out to Millwall. Worth noting that local paper News Shopper thinks this deal is ‘dead’ because Wolves winger Ben Marshall is having a medical with Millwall.

13:28 The clamour, as always, is growing from Forest fans for the club to announce, someone, anyone, as the day ticks on. But while we await official news on Ashkan Dejagah and dig through a multitude of European sports newspaper reports linking every goalkeeper ever to even offer a cursory glance at a swerving free kick, here’s Aitor Karanka talking to Notts TV earlier in the week, when asked about potential business in the summer.

“We are going to bring the best players as possible for those positions. Since I arrived we are working for the following season.”

13:13 Notts County could be announcing their expected second signing of the day earlier than anticipated, says chairman and owner Alan Hardy.

13:01 A reminder we’re going live on Notts TV tonight with all this madness. Team Talk has a special edition going out at 8pm and for the first time ever we’re bringing you a show on Facebook Live. #TotalCoverage

12:44 And here’s Figueredo signing a Forest shirt for Darren, who tells us both players hopped off in a cab together with an agent. Quality deadline day twitter goodness Darren.

Photo: Darren Millington.

12:29 Here’s that pic of Iranian international winger Ashkan Dejagah, who was at the City Ground last night. We’re still awaiting any form of confirmation from Forest that he’s actually a done deal signing. But fan Darren Millington went in for the pic at the same time he snapped new boy Tobias Figueredo.

Ashkan Dejagah

12:13 Magpies fans seem happy with that so far. Albeit most comments are being followed with ‘where’s that striker?’ Mitch Frost posts on the club Facebook page: “Northern Ireland under 21 and played in SPL I’m happy with that”

12:09 Hall has not played for Brighton’s first team yet, having moved there from Motherwell in the summer of 2016. But he made 19 appearances for the Scottish side while still a teenager.

12:00 DONE DEAL: Notts County have secured the loan signing of Northern Ireland under-21 defender Ben Hall from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Seagulls from Motherwell for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2016, moves to Meadow Lane until the end of the season.

11:46 Right on cue, Notts County chairman Alan Hardy tweets that an announcement is imminent. Stick with us to find out who’s coming in at Meadow Lane.

11:42 Mansfield Town loan signing Matt Penney has tweeted about his move from Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season. He’s “happy”. And “can’t wait to get started”.

11:36 Notts County chairman and owner Alan Hardy has said he expects players to come in to Meadow Lane today, as the Magpies try to shake off recent sluggish form to cement their place in the automatic promotion slots in League Two.

Their ins and outs so far;

11:32 Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund for a club record fee of £56 million.

They did so with this comically over-stylised tweet.

11:20 Figueredo has been talking to the Forest club website. He’s not played much for Sporting in Portugal – 15 appearances since 2014, and is believed to have fallen out of favour with manager Jorge Jesus. But he has great pedigree in the Portugese national side’s youth teams, and has 49 appearances for the club’s B side.

He said: “I am very happy to be here. This is a big step forward in my career and I am ready to get going here at Nottingham Forest.

“This is a big club with lots of history but also a bright future and I want to be part of it. The chance to play in the Championship is one that I couldn’t turn down as it is a very competitive league.

“Aitor Karanka is a big name as a manager but also as a player. He was a great defender and I have lots to learn from him. It is a privilege to work under him and I am keen to learn lots from him.”

The 23-year-old believes he will be able to adjust to English football and is keen to get his Forest career started.

He added: “I am a defender that is strong in the air, it is one of my best attributes but I can also read the game well. I feel that I am strong, brave and passionate and I am excited to get started.

“I want to improve and progress as a footballer and I want to help the club as much as I can to improve the results and to be successful. I think that I have all of the characteristics required to play in English football and I want to progress my career with Nottingham Forest.”

11:10 While we await more, here’s a look at Forest’s ins and outs so far this window – it’s prior to the arrival of Tobias Figueredo, which has just been confirmed. Who else will be in that top slot by 11pm?

10:45 The Stags statement on the 19-year-old contains another characteristic tease;

“a deal for an additional signing is currently being worked on”

They do know how to work deadline day for all its worth up at Field Mill.

10:40 Mansfield have released a statement, Steve Evans has this to say about Penney:

“Matt is a young man who will bring a lot to our group. He plays very stylishly in either wide area after being developed at Wednesday from the attacking full-back position.

“The lad is young, very talented and in agreement with myself was previous Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal who stated that young Matt was more than ready to make a great impression at first team level.

“We are grateful to Sheffield Wednesday for selecting our approach for Matt in preference to: at least six or seven League One and Two clubs.

“Again I must acknowledge the work of Carolyn Radford [chief executive] who worked tirelessly on this over last weekend.”

10:35 Stags tweet this picture of Penney, who has just signed a new deal with the Owls.

10:35 DONE DEAL: Mansfield Town announce manager Steve Evans has won the race to sign attacking wide midfield player Matt Penney on loan from Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season.

10:30 More evidence Dejagah (right) is on his way thanks to Forest fan Johnny. On the left is Tobias Figueredo, the Portuguese defender who arrived on loan from Sporting yesterday.

10:16 Mansfield Town, masters of the tease, are at it again.

10:15 Dejagah was voted Fulham’s player of the season in the the campaign which ended in their relegation. He’s also played 44 times for Iran and played in Germany’s youth squads – he moved to Berlin from Tehran, Iran as a child.

10:08 Here’s Dejagah in action for Iran at the 2012 World Cup. Prior to playing in Germany, he had a spell with Fulham, from 2012-14, making 44 appearances.

10:01 Forest are being linked with a lot of names this morning. The most recent is Iranian international Ashkan Dejagah, who has been without a club since the summer after leaving Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. The 31-year-old right winger will need games to guarantee a ticket on the plane to Russia with Iran’s World Cup squad.

09:55 Staying with Mansfield Town, here’s manager Steve Evans in our Notts Tonight sport bulletin last night talking about Adam King, the 22-year-old Swansea midfielder who arrived on Monday on loan until the end of the season, could be a good move.

09:40 Told ya. Stags have just tweeted that another loan signing is due to be announced shortly, with more on the way later.

09:38 We’ve already been talking to the forest manager this week, here he is talking about Forest’s progress in the window so far.

“We know the aim and the target, for me it would be easy to say we need five or six players for ten, fifteen million, but it’s a marathon not a race.”

09:24 Finally Mansfield Town are thought to be in the market for a maximum of two. Stags are rarely quiet on deadline day. Expects ins and outs up at Field Mill.

09:22 Notts County are also expected to make announcements today, in contrast with last summer’s deadline day, when the club did no business having, well, done it all early and sensibly earlier in the summer. A striker could be on the shopping list at Meadow Lane. It’s believed paperwork is already done on two players, who will be unveiled today.

09:18 Karanka also told the club website: “We have to improve, keep going and work hard. We have tomorrow to bring some more players in and we will continue to work.” So I think an active one and a late one is a fair bet for Forest fans today. Stay tuned.

09:13 The honeymoon is over before it really began for new Reds manager Aitor Karanka, who told BBC Nottingham the defeat was the worst in his career, adding “I feel embarrassed”, before patting down Evangelos Marinakis’s pockets for a cheque book, wad of cash, or eBay-able stamp collection to tempt someone in through the City Ground doors.

09:00 Let’s start with who is likely to do what. The consensus is Forest are in need of, and will move heavily for, a defender. It’s a need which feels more like a a gnawing ache after last night’s 3-0 home defeat to Preston North End in the league.

08:50 Morning all. It’s Chris Breese starting off this party of confusion, rumour, implausible lies, some facts, and endless Twitter searches of Portuguese football agents names. Jake Brigstock joins us from 14.30 and Harvey Jamison is also due to chip in this evening.
