Police are investigating after a man and a woman died at a caravan park in Mansfield.

Emergency services were called to help them at Tall Trees Park Homes, on Old Mill Lane, Forest Town, on Tuesday night.

The pair were treated by ambulance crews at around 10pm but were both pronounced dead at the scene a short while later.

Detectives later named them as 66-year-old Richard Thompson, and his niece, 48-year-old Lisa Butler, of Mansfield.

Police say they died following what officers only described as “an incident”, adding they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Detective Inspector Rich Monk, who is leading the investigation, said: “Post-mortem examinations are taking place to establish the exact cause of death, however following our initial investigations we now believe this is an isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

“Our investigation will continue to establish the full circumstances and we are liaising with the family to offer them support following this tragic incident.”
