12-year-old boy killed in car crash named as Luke Aitken

A 12-year-old boy who died in a car crash in Langar has been named as Luke Aitken, from Melton Mowbray, in Leicestershire.

The boy was a passenger in a Ford Transit Tipper van when it crashed at Langar Industrial Estate at around 3.10pm on Monday May 4.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit.

Nottinghamshire police are appealing for anyone who has any information to call them on 101, quoting incident number 491 of 4 May.
