An investigation will take place into the death of a 29-year-old man who has died in Nottingham Prison.
Shalane Blackwood, died on Wednesday morning after being found unresponsive in his cell.
Paramedics were called but they were unable to revive Blackwood. The cause of death is currently unknown and will be investigated by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.
Blackwood, from Derby was jailed for being in possession of a firearm in 2012.
This comes after Nottingham Prison was criticised in a government report earlier this year saying the prison was not safe enough and the conditions were poor.
