The team behind Nottingham Forest’s European Cup-winning exploits are to be inducted into the Football Hall of Fame.

The side famously managed by Brian Clough and Peter Taylor will be honoured by a place in the venue, which is hosted by the National Football Museum in Manchester.

Forest achieved the remarkable feat of back-to-back European Cup triumphs in 1979 and 1980, having won the First Division title in 1978 in their first season after promotion.

The side were recently the subject of the film ‘I believe in Miracles’, charting the club’s first European success.

Notts TV understands talks have begun about an event to celebrate the side’s induction, with only a few minor hurdles remaining.

It follows a petition set up by fans calling for greater recognition for the side’s remarkable 1978-1980 achievements.

The Hall of Fame already includes the likes of England’s 1966 World Cup winners, Liverpool’s 1978 side and Manchester United’s ‘Busby Babes’.

A panel of former footballers, coaches and experts decides on new entries.

Jonny Owen, producer of ‘I Believe in Miracles’ met with some of the ‘miracle men’ at Copper in West Bridgford to celebrate the team’s induction into the football hall of fame.
