More than 100 homes in Mapperley and Sherwood hit by power cut

Power engineers are fixing two faults which have left homes in Mapperley and Sherwood without electricity.

The company says around 30 homes are affected by the Mapperley problem, which was first reported at 7.53am.

Around 123 properties have been hit by the Sherwood outage, which centres around Haydn Road and started around 11am.

Western Power Distribution has apologised and says the two incidents are not related.

The company sent out a tweet apologising for the incident and saying that the the time for the Mapperley cable to be fixed has moved to 5pm, after first saying it would be resolved by around lunchtime.

It expects the Sherwood problem to be dealt with by 3pm.
