Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died in an attack in Mapperley Top.
Officers were called to reports of a serious assault at an address in Woodborough Road, close to the junction with The Wells Road, just before 1.00am on Friday morning (April 14).
The man was treated for his injuries at the scene but died shortly afterwards.
No other details have yet been released by officers, but the force said the incident is being dealt with by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, which is called in to deal with major crimes.
Woodborough Road is closed in both directions between its junctions with The Wells Road and Mission Street. The closure is also affecting access to Woodborough Road from Mapperley Rise.
Bus services are being diverted and motorists are advised to avoid the area completely.
