Nottingham has made the shortlist to be considered as the headquarters to one of two new Channel 4 Creative Hubs.

Nottingham is in the process alongside Belfast, Brighton, Newcastle-Gateshead, Sheffield and Stoke-on-Trent.

The city’s bid to be a Creative Hub was put together by Invest in Nottingham with a range of partners including CMG, Broadway and Nottingham Trent University.

It was backed by filmmakers Shane Meadows and Vicky McClure.

Channel 4 bosses will be visiting the city in late June to consider the proposal in more detail.

In addition, Channel 4 has shortlisted cities for the home of the broadcaster’s new second national headquarters.

Those cities include Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool and Leeds.
