Notts County have appointed Julian Winter as
the club’s new chief executive.

Winter takes over the role from Aileen Trew, who resigned in August.

A defender during his playing career, Winter made more than 100 appearances as a player for Huddersfield Town before injury cut his career in 1990.

He went on to graduate in Leisure and Recreation Management at Sheffield Hallam University before working for Grimsby Town.

Winter has previously held the chief executive role at Watford and twice at Sheffield United.

“Notts County is an impressive club, which is steeped in history and tradition, and everyone here is pulling towards the same target – promotion to League One.

He said: “Notts County is an impressive club, which is steeped in history and tradition, and everyone here is pulling towards the same target – promotion to League One.

“I am looking forward to working with the staff that we have here and to a successful season both on and off the pitch.”

Club chairman Ray Trew added: “The work Julian has done at the previous football clubs he has been at has been very impressive and everyone at the football club is delighted to have Julian on board.”
