Notts manager John Sheridan ‘leaves position’

Notts County have confirmed that John Sheridan has ‘left his position as manager.’

This comes after the Magpies lost 4-0 away at a Cambridge United side managed by former Magpies manager Shaun Derry on Monday (January 2).

Notts have failed to win a game since their 2-0 FA Cup replay victory over non-league side Boreham Wood on November 15 2016.

The Magpies have lost their last nine league games in a row which currently sees them sit 22nd in Sky Bet League 2 one point above the relegation zone with an inferior goal difference to the team below.

The club’s full statement said: “Notts County FC can confirm that John Sheridan is to leave his position as manager with immediate effect.

“The club will be making no further statement at this time.”
