Notts Outlaws race to within one point of topping T20 table

Nottinghamshire Outlaws won two matches in two days to go second in their T20 Blast group.

The Outlaws kick started the weekend in style on Friday night with a win away at table topping Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

This was followed up by a landslide victory at Trent Bridge against Worcestershire Rapids.

The Outlaws won the toss on Friday night at Northamptonshire and put the Steelbacks in to bat.

Imran Tahir starred with the ball taking figures of 3/13 in his four overs as the home side collapsed to 122 all out after 18.2 overs.

Dan Christian played a captain’s innings scoring 56 off of just 32 deliveries as the Outlaws scored 123/4 with three overs to spare.

Notts then followed this up with their fifth straight T20 Blast win to propel them to second in the group.

Worcestershire Rapids batted first and the Outlaws attack restricted the away side to just 124/8 off of their 20 overs with wickets being taken consistently throughout the innings.

Riki Wessels then blasted a 19-ball fifty on his way to 80 not out which featured seven 6s as the home side won by nine wickets with 46 balls to spare.
