Popular Nottingham club and live music venue The Bodega could be about to get bigger.

A licensing application to “amend the conditions of the licence and layout of the premises” has been submitted by owners DHP Family, who also own Rock City and Rescue Rooms.

The bar, located on Pelham Street, is hoping to expand the outdoor seating area into Cobden Chambers, a neighbouring courtyard which is home to several shops and small businesses.

Changes detailed in the plan include the reduction in size to the bar area on the ground floor and the addition of fixed seating.

The application has been submitted to Nottingham City Council and will be reviewed by a licensing committee after March 25.

The bar is hoping to expand the outdoor seating area into Cobden Chambers.

Providing there are no objections during the 28-day-period, the licence will be granted and plans will go ahead.

Since opening more than 20 years ago the venue has hosted performances from big-name artists including Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Supergrass and The White Stripes.

In 2011 it won Best Medium Bar at the Best Bar None awards.
