Power cut leaves more than 600 Nottinghamshire homes without electricity

The powercut affected Sutton-in-Ashfield and Newstead as well as Hucknall.

More than 600 homes in Kirkby-In-Ashfield and Hucknall were left without power on Monday afternoon.

The power cut occurred at around 1pm, affecting 624 homes in the NG15 0, NG15 8, NG17 5, NG15 6, NG15 9 and NG17 7 postcodes.

Electricity in the area is run by Western Power Distribution.

Households are being affected around Newstead, Ravenshead and Sutton-in-Ashfield as well as Hucknall.

 

Amongst those affected are 22 Western Power Distribution priority customers, meaning those who are medically dependent on electricity.

The firm said it hopes power will be restored to everywhere affected between 3.15 and 3.45pm.

Only 79 homes were still without service by 4pm, according to the company website.

All power is expected to be restored by 9pm.
