A shelved bid to make Bassetlaw part of the Sheffield City Region has been labelled “nonsense” by Nottinghamshire County Council’s leader. It comes after Bassetlaw District Council pulled out of the deal which could have seen the area fall under the control of an elected Yorkshire-based mayor.
