Burberry is one of the fashion industry’s leading brand’s, so it was important that the students amazed Luc Goidadin, the chief designer of Burberry who was watching closely from the audience.

Luc Goidadin praised the collections he had seen on the catwalk. He said: “I thought it was an incredibly good show, what I particularly liked about it was that it was so diverse.

“I do think this year was particularly strong, I think what came through was individuality and a real sense of fun.”

We used Nottingham previously down the run way, we know what a powerhouse Nottingham is.

One excited Trent student Lili Liu who is studying Fashion Design was excited about being involved. She said: “I want a lot of people to like my work, I want to enjoy the show, it’s very exciting. In the future I would like to have my own brand and studio.”

Radio 1 presenter, Alice Levine from Beeston, was also at the fashion show and had a lot of appreciation for the talent from her home town. She said: “There’s a local element to it, I’m very proud to be from Nottingham because there is a huge pool of talent that comes from there.

“All my early teens, late teens and early twenties involved me saving up money so I could spend it on fashion in Nottingham.”

The Dean from Nottingham Trent University’s School of Art and Design, Marjolijn Brussaard was very proud of all of her students who took part in the show.

She said: “They’ve done really well, it’s an exceptional year this year. I think the collections that we had here are very strong but also the collections which couldn’t be here as well.

“We struggled to choose people to compete in the show because there is an abundance of talent at Nottingham Trent University.”

The fashion show has come to an end but it will be back again next year with more unique and talented fashion designers. To find out more about the Graduate Fashion Week go to http://www.gfw.org.uk/.
