Hamza Omar Adam admitted manslaughter after Aqib Mazhar was stabbed in Forest Fields.

A teenager has been jailed for seven years for his part in the killing of Aqib Mazhar in Forest Fields last year.

Hamza Omar Adam, 19, formerly of Berridge Road in Forest Fields, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 21-year-old Mr Mazhar in Russell Road, Nottingham, on 1 June 2016.

Nottingham Crown Court was told on Monday (May 8) that Mr Mazhar’s Fiat Punto was attacked by a group of men with weapons.

Mr Mazhar was fatally stabbed inside the car and died at the side of the road.

Forensic evidence linked Adam to the crime and fingerprint evidence and CCTV also showed he was responsible, with the others in the group, for a co-ordinated and planned attack on the car.

Police say enquiries still continue to identify other members of the group responsible.

In December last year another four men were also convicted after admitting Mr Mazhar’s manslaughter.
