A man and a woman in a BMW died after their car was in collision with a van on the southbound carriageway of the A46, south of the A606 island.
The driver of the van was taken to the QMC in Nottingham with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
The accident happened at 10.35pm last night (December 3) and the road was closed until 7:30am this morning (Friday, December 4).
Nottinghamshire Police are asking anyone who saw the crash or were driving on the stretch of road at the time of the incident to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 882.
