Video: Farm manager Marie Rogers speaks about the incidents
Vandals have smashed the windows of a specially-made ‘Star Wars shed’ at Stonebridge City Farm in St Ann’s.
Staff also arrived on Wednesday morning to find birds running free and one dead after an animal shed was also turned over onto its side on Wednesday night.
It is the second time in week the farm has been targeted, after thieves broke into other sheds and stole tools overnight on Sunday.
The shed was built to replicate the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars films and had been entered by staff into the Channel 4 ‘Shed of the Year’ programme.
Staff at the farm say they have been left “heartbroken” by the attacks.

Manager Marie Rogers said: “They’ve absolutely smashed the shed to bits.
“It’s just absolutely mindless hooliganism; they’ve vandalised a place we’ve put here and as a charity we have to raise every penny and we’ve somehow managed to survive over the years.
“If people keep doing this to us it begs the question how long you can run for; it’s depressing really.”
The shed was built by specialist firm Waltons, which previously donated a cabin for animal handling sessions.
Besides animals, the farm has gardens and education rooms and is one Nottingham’s most-visited free attractions.
A Notts Police spokesman said: “The first incident happened between Sunday 21 August evening and Monday August 22 morning with tools stolen and the farm being vandalised.
“The farm was then broken into again on Wednesday night, where windows were smashed and the animal shelters were vandalised resulting in them being quite alarmed. The force is appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in that area.”
Anyone who knows anything about the incidents is being asked to contact Notts Police on 101 quoting incident 140 of August 25.
