Nottingham has been rated as the best value city break ahead of the August bank holiday by travel website TripAdvisor.
TripIndex UK Cities compared the cost of a three-night break over the August bank holiday in the 20 most popular UK cities taking into account typical costs for two people.
And Nottingham was found to provide the best value for money out of them all in the UK.
The costs included a four-star hotel for three nights, a visit to four attractions, lunch each day, a taxi to and from dinner each day along with the cost of dinner.
The study found the trip will cost an average of £681, almost two thirds less than the price of a break to the UK’s most expensive destination Oxford, which comes in at £1,156.
