Video: Jake Meskell dropped in on rehearsals for Nottingham Drag Festival
A pioneering festival bringing some of the world’s biggest drag acts to Nottingham drew a crowd of around 350 people.
Now on it’s second tour, the event takes international and local acts to venues around the UK.
Last year 200 people attended the event at Spanky Van Dykes, Goldsmtih Street. However, about 350 people attended Rescue Rooms, also on Goldsmith Street, for the show on Thursday (September 28).
The audience enjoyed outrageous outfits, dancing, singing and over the top acting all night long from the ten entertaining drag queens.
Performer Miss Derianne Lake said: “Drag has been misunderstood for many years, people didn’t really quite get it, but really that’s changing and it’s about acting and expressing emotion.”
