Federico Macheda interview part II: ‘Expect big things from Forest – next season’

Video: Federico Macheda talks to Notts TV’s Christian Hewgill

Two games into his Forest career, Federico Macheda thinks the team belongs nearer the top of the table – and has the players to do it.

Despite the reds struggling in the league as of late, winning only one in their last seven, he thinks the teams performances against promotion hopefuls Derby County and Hull City should bring some hope.

We can be at that level

In a sit down interview with Notts TV’s Christian Hewgill, the former Manchester United striker said: “We played two great teams and we showed that we can be at that level.”

Forest have struggled to score this season with injuries to key forwards. This saw ‘Kiko’ Macheda parachuted straight into the starting line-up for the last two fixtures.

He is easing his way back into regular football after a long injury layoff thanks to a back operation.

He’s yet to score for Forest but wants to reassure the fans telling them to “expect a lot of hard work and they haven’t seen the best of me yet.”

Despite only being on loan from Cardiff until the end of the season he’s refusing to rule out a permanent move telling Notts TV “it’s a great club and I wouldn’t mind staying.”

The striker won’t get the chance to score his first goal for the club until they face Brentford on April 2nd at the City Ground by which time Britt Assombalonga and Henri Lansbury might be fit enough to return to the squad.
