A Carlton school is the latest in Nottinghamshire in need of a new lollipop lady.

Porchester Road Junior school on Prospect Road is looking for a man or woman to fill the role.

It comes after a city and county-wide appeal in March for more crossing patrol workers to fill a growing shortage.

The patrol person will be needed both in the morning and afternoon sessions to help the pupils get to the other side of the road as safely as possible.

Zena Oliver, Nottinghamshire County Council’s principle road safety officer, said: “If someone could spare half an hour each day to cover the morning or afternoon sessions we would be very happy to hear from them.”
