Heritage Open Days launch in Notts

A number of special venues across Nottingham will open their doors this week in a celebration of architecture and culture.

Events are being organised by Heritage Open Days, a project that promotes architecture around Britain by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or would normally charge for admission.

The annual event is a chance for participants to discover some of the hidden architectural treasures that Nottinghamshire has to offer whilst enjoying a wide range of tours, events and activities.

One building involved will be the St. Mary the Virgin Church, Attenborough, Beeston, which is Grade 1 listed as a building of outstanding architectural or historic interest.

There will be a display that will outline the history of the Church and guide booklets will be available for adults and children.

Heritage Open Days will be taking place in Nottinghamshire from Thursday 10 – Sunday 13 September.
