Internationally renowned classical singer Carly Paoli shortlisted for first ever Classical BRIT award category

Internationally renowned Mansfield classical singer Carly Paoli has been shortlisted for the first ever Sound of Classical poll with the winner to be announced at the Classical BRIT Awards.

The winner will receive a prize of £1,000 and will pick up their award at the ceremony which takes place on Wednesday June 13 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Earlier this year, Carly signed with the world’s number one publishing company Sony.

Speaking about the award, Carly said: “I had to pinch myself when I found out I was nominated for a BRIT award.

“I’ve been thanking the Lord ever since I received this incredible and completely joyous news.

“Since I was a little girl, I dreamt about singing and sharing my music with an audience.

“Now that my dreams have come true, I hope other young people can be inspired to follow theirs.

“I am so excited, so grateful and so thrilled by this prestigious nomination.”

Carly released her debut album ‘Singing My Dreams’ in 2017 with independent, London-based record company ABIAH and charted at number two in the UK’s Official Classical Albums Chart.

She studied at Tring Park and The Royal Northern College of Music and has previously worked with Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli and David Foster.

Carly has performed alongside stars including Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Oscar-winning actress and Grammy-winning singer Jennifer Hudson.

She has also been previously invited to perform for the Pope and the Prince of Wales.
