Spending in this summer’s football transfer topped £1.175 billion and set a new record when the deadline passed at 11pm.
Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Mansfield Town were all in action on the final day of trading.
The Reds had money to spend after selling Oliver Burke for £13 million on Sunday.
And Notts County were thought to be interested in another signing – but someone may have needed to leave Meadow Lane first.
Mansfield Town also looked to bolster their squad after two injuries in the Checkatrade EFL Trophy defeat by Doncaster Rovers the day before (Tuesday August 30) the deadline.
You can see the action as it happened below.

23:08 Confirmation that no more news regarding Nottingham Forest transfers will filter through with the Reds having completed all of their business.
That’s that then. Veldwijk heading to Belgium is the last bit of business for #nffc and we are all done until January.
— Paul Taylor (@nottmtails) August 31, 2016
23:06 And that’s not all from Mansfield Town with defender Corbin Shires going out on a one month loan to Bradford Park Avenue.

22:59 One minute left!
22:55 Notts TV sources: Notts County were trying to sign another player before the window closes but have run out of time to get the deal done…
22:51 Less than 10 minutes until the window closes!
22:50 Speaking of Notts County, manager John Sheridan is relishing what Aaron Collins can bring to Meadow Lane.

22:45 Notts TV sources say that Notts County may not have finished all of their business in this transfer window just yet…
22:40 The news that many expected… Nottingham Forest’s Lars Veldwijk has left for Belgian side K.V. Kortrijk on a permanent deal.

22:37 More loans have happened in the EFL in this transfer window than all throughout last season… It has certainly been a busy one!
22:35 Mansfield Town fans have been welcoming Alex Iacovatti on Twitter following the news of his arrival from Nottingham Forest on a season long loan deal.
@alexiacovitti @mansfieldtownfc Welcome and Good Luck Alex ? Hope your time at Mansfield is successful for both you and Stags xx ??⚽⚽??

22:30 Just half an hour to go!
22:25 Quiet at the moment but with just 35 minutes left, anything can happen in a mad dash to get deals done…
22:09 Nottingham Forest’s Tyler Walker has Tweeted ahead of playing for Stevenage.
Delighted to have signed for Stevenage today, can’t wait to get started ⚽️
— Tyler Walker (@tylerjandrew1) August 31, 2016
22:07 Good to see Mansfield Town boss Adam Murray seeing the lighter side of the transfer window! This comes after Murray said that clubs would have to bid upwards of £5m for striker Jamie Green before making it clear that he would not be sold. I wonder who made the bid…

22:00 One hour to go! Just one hour until the summer transfer window shuts! Could there be any more signings or departures for Nottingham Forest, Notts County or Mansfield Town? Stay here to find out all the latest!
21:49 While it’s all gone a bit quiet on the transfer front, it certainly wasn’t at Meadow Lane by the sound of things where Notts County beat Hartlepool 2-1 in the Checkatrade Trophy with two players, one for each side, sent off in the final minute.
It’s finished 2-1 to Notts. Decent game. At least the players showed the Trophy matters.
— Leigh Curtis (@LeighCurtis_NP) August 31, 2016
21:33 Some national transfer news – all the paperwork has been sorted and Jack Wilshere is now officially a Bournemouth player for the rest of the season.
DEAL DONE !!
JACK WILSHERE IS AN #AFCB PLAYER.
— Mark McAdam (@markmcadamtv) August 31, 2016
21:27 The spending in this transfer window has now passed £1.1bn… The total currently stands at £1,114,230,000.
21:23 A quick recap of what happened in that last hour – Nottingham Forest loaned Jamie Ward to Burton Albion and Alex Iacovitti to Mansfield Town, both on season long loan deals. Still no news yet on whether Lars Veldwijk will remain or leave the Reds. Notts County confirmed a loan deal with Wolves’ Aaron Collins until January.
21:15 All quiet in that first quarter of an hour – certainly not like the last hour so far… Still an hour and 45 to go until the window closes.
21:00 Just two hours to go now until the window closes! Last hour was a very busy one for Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Mansfield Town; the next one could be just as hectic!
20:51 …with Alex Iacovitti himself saying about his aims for the season ahead with the Stags.

— Aaron Collins (@aaroncollinsx) August 31, 2016
20:40 Some more information on the Aaron Collins loan to Notts County – an initial deal has been agreed until January. Wolves signed him from Newport County last January and has been capped once at youth level for Wales.
20:38 And it doesn’t appear to be all over at Nottingham Forest yet either…
Last one out – and nothing has been completed yet – is likely to be Veldwijk.
— Paul Taylor (@nottmtails) August 31, 2016
20:37 They’re coming in thick and fast now – Notts County have announced the signing of Wolves’ Welsh forward Aaron Collins on loan!

20:34 Post reporter Paul Taylor reckons it’s a good move for both Alex Iacovitti and Nottingham Forest; I’ll add Mansfield Town to that list as well.
There’s the other one – Alex Iacovitti joins Mansfield Town on loan for rest of season. Good move for him and #nffc.
— Paul Taylor (@nottmtails) August 31, 2016
20:32 Transfer news for both Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town! Alex Iacovitti has joined the Stags on a season long loan from the Reds.

Looks like there could be some transfer movement at Notts.

20:02 And there we have it, Jamie Ward has been loaned out to local Championship rivals Burton Albion on a season long loan deal.

20:00 Only three hours to go until the window closes! Where has the day gone…
19:59 Whilst there may not be any incomings to Nottingham Forest, that’s not the end of the Reds’ transfer activity in this window…
Another player going out at #nffc on loan any minute. Another loan out on horizon after that as well, possibly.
— Paul Taylor (@nottmtails) August 31, 2016
19:25 And according to the Post’s Forest aficionado, that is it for City Ground in-comings. I can see a few fans not being terribly pleased about that, but the fact remains the Reds still have a strong squad.
For those asking, unless something truly dramatic happens – as we said earlier – word from #nffc is that there will be no more signings.
— Paul Taylor (@nottmtails) August 31, 2016
19:04 With less than four hours now until the transfer window closes, Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov has joined Portugese side SC Olhanense on loan.

18:40 Paul Taylor of the Nottingham Post says that’s it now for arrivals at Forest.
18:30 A dip into the big deals for a moment and the word is Jack Wilshere is having his medical at Bournemouth as I type.
18:20 Latest on those ‘Jordan Rhodes to just about any Championship club’ stories. Earlier we heard Forest were on the fringes. And so they remain. Boro are not interested in Sheffield Wednesday’s loan bid though, and want to see a permanent exit for the striker.
18:06 A nice example of the lengths people go to on Twitter to start false rumours. Profile has three tweets and a pic of agent Paul Stretford, not the myhtical ‘Peter Wilkinson’.. Odd. Just odd….and of course Assombalonga is not going to Norwich, you silly man.
18:00 A formality for you as Napoli confirm Nicolao Dumitru’s loan move to Forest.

17:50 At Field Mill the big news is not transfers – it’s Stags boss Adam Murray. He’s been setting tongues wagging over those two injuries his squad picked up in the 2-0 defeat to Doncaster in last night’s Checkatrade Trophy game. When 15 minutes were left he told players to stay out of tackles, he’s admitted.
17:44 More from Tyler Walker’s loan move to Stevenage from Forest – a warm welcome for him from boss Darren Sarll.

17:15 Still no news on if Lars Veldwijk will leave Nottingham Forest or not amid reports that he is expected to depart the City Ground.
17:04 Here’s the unveiling of new Nottingham Forest signing Licá!

17:00 The countdown continues with just six hours to go before the summer transfer window shuts!
16:53 Just a quick one on the national transfer news front; Jack Wilshere is reportedly travelling to Bournemouth to complete a season long loan deal after interest from Crystal Palace and Roma.
16:47 Seems as though Licá already has his own nickname; certainly a lot to live up to if this is it!
Nottingham Forest fans: He’s not just Licá.

16:22 All quiet over here at the moment… Just to recap, Nottingham Forest have been the only active club out of the three at the moment on deadline day, with the Reds having confirmed the signings of Nicolao Dumitru, Mustapha Carayol and Licá with Tyler Walker heading to Stevenage on loan.
16:00 Just seven hours until the end of the most expensive transfer window in history… Stay tuned to see if there are any more deals involving Nottingham Forest, Notts County or Mansfield Town!
15:54 Here’s the lowdown on new Nottingham Forest signing Licá; the 27 year old midfielder has signed for Nottingham Forest from Porto for a fee of around £300,000. After joining Porto in 2013, he made 25 appearances for the club and scored three goals. Last season he was loaned out to Vitoria Guimaraes, who play in Portugal’s top league called Primeira Liga, where he made 29 appearances scoring five goals. He also has one cap for his national side Portugal which was in a 3-1 friendly loss against Brazil in the US.
15:49 Here we are Mansfield Town fans… Here’s a full rundown of who the Stags have signed and sold so far. Another great video courtesy of @OwenShipton.

15:29 Twitter can’t stop linking Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Hooper to Nottingham Forest…
15:13 We are only awaiting official confirmation of Licá‘s move to Nottingham Forest now in a £300,000 move to the City Ground from Porto; just the ‘formalities’ to go through.

14:53 About Mustapha Carayol: the Gambian winger joins the Reds on a two year deal after his contract with Middlesbrough was cancelled by mutual consent. He signed for Boro in 2012 and made 50 appearances for the club scoring 11 goals. He was most recently loaned out to Leeds United where he made 12 appearances and scored one goal in the second half of last season. He has played for Gambia and has scored one goal in three appearances, which came when he earned his second cap against Mauritania in March this year.
14:46 About Nicolao Dumitru: the Italian striker is on loan at Forest from Napoli. Last season, he spent the season on loan at Serie B side Latina and scored seven goals in 34 appearances, the most amount of goals he has scored in a single season. The 24 year old has previously represented Italy at U19 and U20 level, with the striker scoring three goals in 19 appearances across both age groups.
14:37 Speculation is rife on Twitter that Jonny Williams could be on his way back to the Championship on a season long loan… Could it be Nottingham Forest?
14:36 It looks as though Jordan Rhodes will not leave Middlesbrough in this transfer window after being rumoured to be linked with a move to the City Ground, according to The Football League Paper.

14:33 For those that may not be up to speed about the new Nottingham Forest signings Nicolao Dumitru and Mustapha Carayol. We’ll have profiles of each of the new players in the next half an hour or so.
14:27 I think it’s fair to say that this sums up how Forest fans will feel about the Assombalonga news… Would love to see the reaction if Lansbury agrees terms for an extension today too!

14:15 Hello all! Straight away there’s good news for Nottingham Forest fans as Nottingham Post journalist Paul Taylor confirms that Britt Assombalonga has agreed terms of a new contract to stay at the City Ground. He is expected to put pen to paper later on today. The Reds are now expected to turn their focus to negotiating a longer term deal with Henri Lansbury.

13:56 All the comings and goings so far this window at Meadow Lane. We still expect another arrival for Notts County today. But it’s notably quiet at the moment on the Magpies front.
13:45 And we’ll shortly we have our video round-up of the key moves so far at Notts County.
13:27 And here are the main arrivals and departures at Forest courtesy of a lovely video by @OwenShipton. Join him on Notts TV News at 5.30pm, 6pm, 7pm and 10pm with a round-up of the latest.
13:20 One man heading in the opposite direction is striker Lars Veldwijk. He’s already been linked with a move away from the City Ground, having only just scored his first goal two years after arriving from Holland. He’s now told Fox Sports in the Netherlands that he wants to row down the Trent and across the channel.
13:06 DONE DEALS: We have our first officialdom of the day from Nottingham Forest, who are declaring on Nicolao Dumitru and Mustapha Carayol. That’s a full blue tick on those two.

13:02 On a lighter note Alan Ketton has made all our dreams come true through the medium of Photoshop.

12:50 There have been some frankly rather daft ‘Britt Assombalonga to Derby’ rumours on Twitter this morning. The fact I don’t dignify them with bold text tells you all you need to know. He’s not meant to be going anywhere.
Some better news for #NFFC: Britt Assombalonga is in process of signing new long-term contract. — Daniel Taylor (@DTguardian) August 31, 2016
12:29 A Notts County rumbling for you. The Post’s Leigh Curtis says Dan Gardner, a Chesterfield midfielder/striker could be on the way. BBC editor has echoed that.
Hearing #chesterfieldfc midfielder Dan Gardner is the subject of interest from Notts County. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake could also move out today. — Andy Giddings (@Gids1980) August 31, 2016
12:14 Mansfield Town have another objective today – keeping hold of striker Matt Green. At least three League Two clubs are interested and a bid from Bradford City rejected last week. Here are the ‘ins’ at Field Mill so far in this window. Most of the business was done early in the summer. 12:04 Some big news now on the national transfer news. Joe Hart‘s loan deal from Manchester City to Torino in Italy is a done deal.
11:58 More on Nottingham Forest target Licá. This fan compilation shows some smart finishing and neat feet. This is the bit where I have to write “we’ll see how he copes in a more physical league”.
11:50 Another name that keeps coming up this morning in connection with Forest is Ravel Morrison. The ex-Manchester United prodigy is currently at Lazio, where he has only made three appearances. Three Championship clubs, including Forest, are reportedly interested. The Sun, Mirror and Nottingham Post are saying Morrison is interested in the switch.
11:43 Not that it was in any doubt but Middlesbrough have announced Mustapha Carayol‘s contract has been terminated by mutual consent allowing his move to Forest to go through.
11:30 Mmmmmm. More graphics. Let’s look at Notts County now, where nine players have arrived over the summer, for the precise total of £00.00p. We expect one more on this list by midnight tonight.
11:18 I wouldn’t get too excited Forest fans. Although bookmakers are cutting odds of a Rhodes move today it’s all in favour of Sheffield Wednesday and some outlets are saying Rhodes is going nowhere today. Except to the loo to check his phone.
11:12 Of course this is just search-based. But look who’s cropping up as an associated topic with Forest. Bendtner and none other than Jordan Rhodes, who entered the Reds rumour mill overnight. 11:10 Google Trends shows the sudden surge in interest in Licá in association with Forest in the last four hours.
11:00 And there’s the 12 hours to go bell. Ding. To clarify, although the deadline is 11pm, clubs are allowed leeway for paperwork confirmation, often leading to confirmation of deals around midnight and sometimes beyond.
10:50 This is the second report saying Licá is on the verge of moving to Forest. He’s 27 and has one cap for Portugal. Previous clubs include La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.
Porto winger Licá, who played at V.Guimarães last season, will join Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal today.[ZZ] pic.twitter.com/asmTzPtm6G — Jan Hagen (@PortuBall) August 31, 2016
10:41 And we have a more concrete one here for Forest fans. Portugese media say winger Licá could be heading to Nottingham today to complete a move from Porto, where he has recently been farmed out on loan after a promising period with the Portugese giants.
10:39 Our first and possibly already best Twitter rumour of the day involves Niclas Bendtner and Nottingham Forest. The ex-Arsenal man is out of contract and a pack of Championship clubs are interested. Including Forest, so say nothing more than twitter rumblings. We’ll let you raise an eyebrow at that one.
10:30 Mmmmm graphic time. Nottingham Forest have already got nine through the door. Thomas Lam already looks like a good deal out of this lot after three starts and two goals.
10:28 And where is Roy Carroll now, some Magpies fans may wonder? He’s back in his homeland playing for Linfield and picking up man of the match awards.
10:20 At Notts County its already been one of the busiest windows of recent seasons – two players have left on free transfers and ten players have been released, with goalkeeper Roy Carroll the highest-profile name to be let go. But nine players have come in – all for free or on loan.
10:00 Worth remembering today is as much about who Forest keep hold of as sign. Britt Assombalonga has been linked with clubs including Aston Villa but Fawaz Al-Hasawi says the striker will not be sold.
09:41 Mustapha Carayol is a happy man after sealing his move to Forest – at Boro he had spent the last 18 months out on loan after a promising start on Teeside from 2012 – 2014 when he made 50 appearances and scored 13 goals. But a bad injury in March 2014 led to a spell on the sidelines and he forced to get himself back in contention once fit again.
Buzzing to have joined @NFFC looking forward to a fresh start! Thanks for all the welcome messages. Look forward to meeting you all!! ?? — Mustapha Carayol (@Muzza_19) August 30, 2016
09:31 Finally at Mansfield Town, a very organised and respectable transfer period could have a spanner in the works. Adam Murray did most of his business early – but last night Jamie McGuire and Kyle Howkins both picked up injuries in a loss to Doncaster in the Checkatrade EFL Trophy. The Stags may need to asses their fitness before deciding whether or not their dealings are done.
09:28 Notts County are also rumoured to be in the market for one other signing – probably on loan. But someone may need to leave the club first before a deal can be completed.
09:25 All this means it’s been a busy window already for Forest – but at least one more player is expected to arrive before the deadline tonight.
09:12 Almost immediately afterwards Nicolao Dumitru was confirmed as landing Trentside. He’s arrived on loan from Italian Serie A club Napoli and is a striker.
I am also pleased to announce Nicolao Dumitru has joined us on a season-long loan #NFFC — @FAWAZ_ALHASAWI (@fawaz_alhasawi1) August 30, 2016
09:10 And last night there were two arrivals – chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi said there would be three post-Burke. He first tweeted the arrival of Mustapha Carayol around 9pm last night. The winger has been signed for an undisclosed fee from Middlesbrough.
Please welcome Mustapha Carayol to #NFFC who has signed a two-year deal — @FAWAZ_ALHASAWI (@fawaz_alhasawi1) August 30, 2016
09:06 Let’s first look at Forest – where as usual by far the most cash is being splashed. After Oliver Burke’s controversial move to German club RB Leipzig on Sunday, the Reds, in theory, had £13 million to invest.
08:59 Good morning. Twitter is a swirling soup of rumour, the phrase ‘before the window slams shut’ has already been written at least 90 times – it can only be transfer deadline day.
