A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl in Newark.
The girl was found unconscious at an address on Pierson Street just after midnight on Sunday morning.
Police and an ambulance were called and paramedics tried to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the Queen’s Medical Centre.
The arrested man is 23 and is still in police custody being questioned by detectives.
The girl’s death is currently being treated as unexplained.
No further details have been released but anyone with information about what happened is asked to call Notts Police on 101, quoting incident number 16 of July 24.
