A man arrested in connection with a armed robbery in Newark has gone on the run after failing to answer bail.
Matthew Porter, 35, of St Nicholas Road, Boston, was detained in connection with the raid at Andrew Michael’s Jewellers on Stodman Street on January 6.
Four men burst in and threatened staff with a gun before running off with a hoard of jewellery.
Porter, of Boston, Lincolnshire, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery on January 11 and released on police bail.
But he failed to turn up at a police station as part of his release and is now wanted.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information aboiut Porter’s whereabouts to contact police immediately on 999 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
