Notts County manager praises player spirits

VIDEO: Cooper speaks about players and learning from his mistakes

Notts County manager Mark Cooper has given Notts TV his assessment of the players under his short reign so far.

The former Swindon Town boss was taken on as County’s manager until the end of the season, at the end of March following the Magpies’ 4-1 home defeat to Exeter which saw Jamie Fullarton fired.

During this time he has overseen four County games, with a win and two draws seeing the side move up to 18th in the table.

Cooper has been promised a permanent contract if the side reaches a confidential agreed points.

County could move up to 16th in the league tonight (Tuesday April 12) if they beat Hartlepool by three goals.

It’s good you can build a foundation at home

Cooper said: “I’m just concentrating on the next game; I can only deal or think about things which I can control.

“I can try and get a team of players out there that’s going to give themselves a chance of beating Hartlepool.

“If we keep putting in performances efforts like we have been, the fans will stay with you.

“I think it’s good that you can build a foundation at home, that you have your core support behind you all of the time and that we have given them something to shout about.”
