Prince William welcomes England Lionesses to Kensington Palace after they finished third place in the Women’s World Cup in Canada.
Following Laura Bassett’s heart breaking own goal in the semi-final that saw England lose against Japan, the Lionesses still managed to smash their way to third place in the Women’s World Cup by beating Germany.
The England women were greeted with a reception from the Duke of Cambridge at Kensington Palace after their return.
Defender, Casey Stoney tweeted: “Breakfast with HRH at @KensingtonRoyal then off to Centre Court for a spot of Tennis. Not a bad day as days go.”

The team also got to meet Prime Minister David Cameron at Downing Street before heading over to Wimbledon to watch the women’s semi-finals day.
